The athlete Panagiotis Vassilopoulos was examined today by his physician Mr. Pantelis Nikolaou in regard to the post – surgery infection of his right knee. Following the diagnosis of his doctor, the athlete was admitted once again to the Athens Medical Center in order to be treated with in-vein antibiotic treatment. He is expected to be released from the hospital soon.

Nike Hellas and the basketball team of Olympiacos awarded Teo Papaloukas last night for his first place in three Euroleague statistical categories that is his 210 games, 866 assists and 307 steals.

The game had no ranking importance but in no case did the players of Dusan Ivkovic were indifferent, with Raso Nesterovic being the best of all. The “reds” played great in the second half of the game against Zalgiris, won an easy 78-64 and offered a great show for the 6000 fans that were in the Peace and Friendship Stadium.

Milos Teodosic being voted the best European player of 2010 has been a great honor for both the Serbian player and Olympiacos. The 23 year old play maker became the youngest basketball player ever to have succeeded something like that, since all his predecessors, players of the likes of Nowitzki, Gasol, Papaloukas and Kirilenko, won the said accolade after their 26 years. He didn’t just beat Fenerbahce/Ulker but did it with such a score that gives him the top ranking spot of the group and thus the home court advantage for the Euroleague quarter-finals. The “reds” under Dusan Ivkovic edged the Tuks 65 – 80 in the presence of Messrs. Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos (i.e. owners of the Club).

Olympiacos reached 18 victories at 18 games, edging Maroussi at the Peace and Friendship Stadium. The “reds” under Dusan Ivkovic were very good at the first and fourth quarter reaching victory without any obstacles (final 92 – 76).

A winner in Valencia as well...

Olympiacos doubled his victories against Valencia and now has the upper hand as far as qualification to the Euroleague play-offs is concerned. The “reds” under Dusan Ivkovic played superbly in Spain and put the foundations for the victory at the exact right moment (79-85).

It was the end of the '30s when the Olympiacos Basketball team was founded with players form the "Ionidio" School. Great personalities of Greek basketball wore the 'red' shirt, coaches wrote history, victories came and Olympiacos played a leading role inside and outside the Greek borders.
