Memoriam day

Saturday noon (6/2), the Olympiacos family paid once again tribute to the 21 days that so abruptly left us on February 8, 1981.

On Monday, it’s 35 years from that terrible day, and on Saturday noon a memorial service took place to pay tribute to the victims of the Gate 7 tragedy. The Olympiacos family yet once again paid tribute to the 21 souls that so unfairly departed from life. All the Club teams were there just like thousands of fans.

The whole basketball team was at the memorial service that place today at the “G. Karaiskakis” stadium. Leading the delegation were the Presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos and all the members of the basketball team.

No one is going to ever forget these people that lost their lives for no reason, no matter how many years will have passed. Olympiacos honors its dead and always knows how play on behalf of those who have created their own “gate” in heaven.
On Monday (8/2) in the game against PAOK a minute of silence will be observed in memory of the victims of Gate 7 and the Giannis Sfairopoulos’ team will play in black uniforms following a relevant request submitted with HEBA, which was accepted by the organizing authority as well  as by PAOK, since according to regulations, the host team should be wearing its light colored uniform.
