A road win on the Greek League premiere 

Olympiacos left the loss to Virtus in the rear-view mirror and bounced back with a 78–68 victory over Iraklis on the opening matchday of the Stoiximan GBL at Ivanofeio.

Miller-McIntyre, with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, and Nikola Milutinov, with 10 points and 10 rebounds, stood out for our team.

Giorgos Bartzokas started the game with Miller-McIntyre, Dorsey, Ward, Vezenkov and Hall. However, once again, Olympiacos failed to impress with their performance, particularly on defense in the opening minutes. Lecque caused problems for our team, as Olympiacos fell behind by as many as 10 points (18–8) after six minutes.

Nikos Plotas and Nikola Milutinov helped stabilize the 'red & whites', but Iraklis had gained confidence and ended the first quarter leading by10p. (25–15).

Miller-McIntyre’s second stint on the court proved decisive for Olympiacos. The American scored 10 points in the second quarter, putting on an impressive display, while Ndiaye significantly improved the 'red & whites' defensive performance. Olympiacos won the quarter 31–11 and went into halftime with a 10-point lead (36–46).

After the break, Donta Hall returned in form, and once Olympiacos began finding score from beyond the arc, they extended their lead to 14 points (44–58) at 27'. The Greek champions ended the third quarter with the same margin, as Milutinov scored on a tip-in in the final second to make it 50–64.

In the final ten minutes, Olympiacos looked considerably more solid, and a three-pointer from Fournier gave them their first 20-point lead of the game (56–76) in the 36th minute. The 'red & whites' eased off again in the closing minutes, but ultimately secured the 78–68 victory.

On Friday (9/10), Olympiacos will host Anadolu Efes at Sunel Arena, while two days later they will welcome Kolossos to the same venue for the second round of the Stoiximan GBL.
