In response to misleading leaks by Panathinaikos BC to the media, Olympiacos BC would like to inform its fans as follows:
Yesterday, Olympiacos BC filed a complaint with the GBL Sports Disciplinary Judge against Panathinaikos BC and Margarita Thanou, a member of Panathinaikos’ Board of Directors, over the latter’s defamatory public statements made during a live broadcast on state television on October 31.
During her appearance on the program, Ms. Thanou knowingly disseminated false and defamatory allegations against Olympiacos BC. Among others, she claimed that Olympiacos BC was allegedly involved in the ongoing judicial investigation into alleged match-fixing in basketball and described the championships and finals that we won against Panathinaikos BC as allegedly 'fixed'.
The case is scheduled to be heard tomorrow.
