One Team at the Port Run Mini Marathon in Piraeus
On Sunday, March 15, the children of Olympiacos’ One Team participated in the Port Run Mini Marathon in Piraeus, running alongside parents, students from Ploes, and children from various classes of the 22nd Primary School of Piraeus.
The young runners experienced a special day full of smiles, effort, and team spirit, and they even managed to achieve important distinctions.
Preparation for the race had started early. During the training session on Tuesday, March 3, the team held its warm-up around the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF). With the goal of building cohesion and rhythm, the participants joined forces and enjoyed a 1K run, completing the route in 10 minutes.
Training continued in the team’s familiar space with activities designed to boost the children’s motivation and enthusiasm. The program included competitive games in groups of three, focusing on speed, communication, and mutual support. The hugs and joyful celebrations at the end of the day once again confirmed that fair play brings teammates closer together and unites the team.
The big moment arrived on Sunday, March 15, when parents and children gathered at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus. After collecting their race numbers and completing their warm-up, everyone headed together toward the starting arch.
The smiles of the young runners, from the start line to the finish, were the most characteristic element of the day, proving that the joy of participation is just as important as the result. The effort of all the children, even those who struggled but managed to complete the route, was truly commendable.
Special mention should also be made of the team’s achievements. Grigoris, a One Team student, won first place in the primary school category, while Ioanna and Andrianna also placed among the top finishers in the girls’ category.
Congratulations to all the children and participants for their effort, perseverance, and team spirit, honoring the values of One Team in the best possible way.
