John Konchar arrived in Athens on Tuesday afternoon (27/10) to undergo medical examinations and join Olympiacos’ training program. At the airport, he gave his first statements as a player of our team.
In his first remarks, Konchar said: “I’m really excited about the opportunity. It’s my first time in Greece, and I can’t wait to get on the court and play.”
Asked how he intends to approach his first EuroLeague experience, Konchar commented: “I always play with my heart, as much as I possibly can. I always play at 100% to give my team more possessions and help them win.”
Regarding whether he had studied Olympiacos’ style of play, the team’s new signing said: “One thing I’ve noticed, to be honest, is the ball movement. Everyone moves the ball really well. The ball never gets stuck, which is a very positive thing.”
Asked what made him choose Olympiacos, he replied: “What they’re building here. They were champions last year, and I want to win another championship with them this season and build something good for the years to come.”
Konchar also sent his own message to Olympiacos fans, saying: “I’m excited to play in front of you. It’s going to be great. I can’t wait to get on the court and meet you all, guys.”
