Ward and Jones on OlympiacosBC TV

Olympiacos will be facing Real Madrid in the big EuroLeague final, and Tyson Ward and Tyrique Jones, who are preparing for the first final of their careers, spoke to OlympiacosBC TV about the huge challenge ahead.
Tyson Ward, who stood out in his first Final Four appearance against Fenerbahce Beko by scoring 10 points, talked about his experience in the competition and sent his own message ahead of the final.

Do you feel more pressure or excitement for the final?
“I’m excited for the tip-off, but I am definitely kind of anxious as well. That’s something I love about basketball; it can bring out the best and the worst in you. You experience the highs and the lows, the day before and the day after. So right now, I’m just enjoying the emotions I have and I’ll try to use them to my advantage moving forward.”

What has your first Final Four experience been like?
“It’s definitely crazier than I had imagined. And it’s not over yet. Things could have gone differently yesterday (Friday), and they could also go differently tomorrow. I’m trying to stay even headed and in the moment, and hopefully tomorrow we finish things the right way.”

What message would you like to send to our fans?
“Come support us. We need you more than ever. This is something special for you, but it’s also special for us. And I believe that if you’re there, then we’ll play even harder.”

On the other hand, Tyrique Jones, who joined Olympiacos to experience nights like this, spoke highly of the club’s fans and promised to give it all against Real Madrid.

Is there more pressure or excitement ahead of the final?
“I’m more excited about the challenge ahead of us. Real Madrid is a huge club and they’re not going to make life easy for us, but we won’t make it easy for them either. I expect a real battle tomorrow and a tough game until the very end.”

How are you experiencing the atmosphere with the fans, and what do you expect tomorrow?
“The same thing as Friday, but from what I hear we’ll have even more fans there. I imagine our section will be even louder. I’m happy that we’ll have our supporters in the stands.”
