A broad win over Peristeri

Olympiacos put in a serious and efficient performance to secure a convincing 91–62 victory over Peristeri, maintaining their perfect record with a 5th consecutive win in the league (5/5).

Once again, Sasha Vezenkov was the MVP for the European champions, finishing the game with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Every Olympiacos player got on the scoresheet, with Omiros Netzipoglou following as the team's second-highest scorer with 16 points.

Before tip-off, our President, Panagiotis Angelopoulos, honored last season's top performers, presenting the GBL awards to Giorgos Bartzokas (Coach of the Year), Sasha Vezenkov, Nikola Milutinov and Evan Fournier (members of the All-GBL First Team), and Nikos Plotas (Best Young Player). The Frenchman received double honors, having also been named the MVP of last season's championship.

Giorgos Bartzokas started the game with Miller-McIntyre, Netzipoglou, Ward, Vezenkov and Milutinov. The EuroLeague MVP set the tone from the very first possession, opening the score with a three. Netzipoglou and Plotas soon followed suit, helping the 'Red & Whites' establish a 7-point lead by the end of the first quarter (25–18).

The pace slowed at the beginning of the second quarter, but another three-pointer from Vezenkov, who returned to the game at the small forward position, gave Olympiacos fresh momentum. Cory Joseph then took over offensively. Although the Canadian initially struggled from beyond the arc, he found his rhythm through his drives to the basket, finishing the first half as the team's leading scorer with 12 points and helping Olympiacos take an 18-point advantage into the break (48–30).

After the break, Sasha Vezenkov was simply unstoppable. Scoring 11 points in just 6', he helped Olympiacos stretch their lead to commanding proportions. Our team got to lead by 35 (71–36 in 28'), demonstrating excellent concentration at both ends of the court. Netzipoglou and Karagiannidis finished their plays in the paint, while Giorgos Bartzokas took the opportunity to distribute playing time among his squad.

With Papas entering the game in the 4th quarter, our coach saw every player get their name on the scoresheet. Olympiacos, who finished the game with 4 Greek players in the lineup (Plotas, Netzipoglou, Papas and Karagiannidis), cruised to a convincing 29-point victory, 91–62.

The quarters: 25–18, 48–30, 76–42, 91–62.
