A comfortable win in Patras
Olympiacos beat Promitheas Patras 85–45 on the road, recording their fourth win in as many games in the Stoiximan GBL.
The 'Ref & Whites' delivered an impressive second-half performance, dominating their opponents and securing a convincing victory. Mbaye Ndiaye stood out with his performance, finishing with 19 points and 4 rebounds.
Giorgos Bartzokas started the game with Codi Miller-McIntyre, Omiros Netzipoglou, Tyler Ward, Sasha Vezenkov and Donta Hall. Netzipoglou scored the first points of the game. For the second consecutive match, Olympiacos made a strong defensive start, allowing just 3 points in the opening 5'. However, despite producing some excellent team plays, our team struggled to find their rhythm offensively. Vezenkov scored 5 points as the Greek champions ended the first quarter with a 4-point lead (12–16).
Ndiaye’s introduction in the second quarter proved beneficial for Olympiacos. The Senegalese forward scored both from beyond the arc and in transition, producing several impressive plays. With 3' remaining in the first half, Olympiacos extended their lead to double digits for the first time. Nikola Milutinov then capped off the half in style, becoming the first player in the game to reach double figures.
Olympiacos began the second half with a 12-point advantage (29–41), but their lead quickly grew. With Vezenkov in outstanding form and Miller-McIntyre and Ward orchestrating the offense, the 'Red & Whites' increased their lead to 25 (37–62) by the end of the third quarter.
Our team maintained its focus and intensity throughout the second half, with free-throw shooting the only real weakness in an otherwise excellent performance. Ndiaye was outstanding during his second spell on the court, while Olympiacos continued to push the pace and stretch the margin. With 3' on the clock, our side had established a commanding 40-point lead (40–80).
The game ultimately ended with Olympiacos securing an emphatic 40-point victory. Bartzokas gave all his players time on the court, and every member of the team managed to score.
The quarters: 12–16, 29–41, 37–62, 45–85.
