Giorgios Bartzokas spoke at the press conference following the winning game for the 23rd round Stoiximan GBL against Panathinaikos.
In his opening statement, the Olympiacos head coach said: “Obviously, the stakes of the game were not particularly high, perhaps mostly a matter of pride, but of course the competitive nature of both teams created an intense matchup. The defenses were nothing special, as the score clearly shows. We believe we controlled the game throughout its entire duration. We built big leads, double-digit ones, but toward the end we eased off a bit, and that may have been the result of the already limited number of ball handlers we had becoming even smaller after Dorsey’s ejection. So, players like Larentzakis, who came off the bench, helped significantly. The fact that we had 25 assists, scored over 100 points, and ultimately won makes me feel obliged to congratulate our players and our team. Without any doubt, we are the best team in the regular season of the Greek league. Congratulations to Panathinaikos and best of luck moving forward.”
