Olympiacos’ Presidents: «Our life motto is ‘to the end’»!

Olympiacos celebrated winning his 11th Greek Cup title, however, the dominant motto even during the celebrations, was ‘to the end’!

“We did not start ‘to the end’ last season” was what the President of Olympiacos BC, Panagiotis Angelopoulos stressed. “It began when we made the historic decision to leave from that game at the OAKA. And then the fans’ support followed and the struggle to climb back to top tier”.

The other President of Olympiacos BC, Giorgos Angelopoulos agreed to a t. “The change began last year, but just like Panagiotis said, the decisions had been made before that. The beginning for something significant and grant was made last season in this gym and we continue in the right path. You can see that the team has been playing enjoyable basketball, the whole Europe sings its praise and the gym is full in every day”.

He then talked about the reason ‘to the end’ became a chant for the ‘red & white fans’. “It has become a chant and a motto because the fans have seen what it means. ‘To the end’ is a way of life. We decided to solve the issue by ourselves, the issue that that everyone else was not able to solve. We solved it, you can see the results and we are taking it to the end!”. Panagiotis Angelopoulos talked about his feelings when he listens to it: “It’s thrilling to listen to it and it gives us strength to go on!”

Asked whether he thinks Crete is lucky for the team, Giorgos Angelopoulos replied: “It’s also the song…” talking about “Thryle (i.e. Olympiacos’ moniker), Crete is your second home” before Panagiotis Angelopoulos added: “We hope to continue winning titles in Crete!”

Finally, on whether the goal is now winning the Greek League and the Euroleague, Giorgos Angelopoulos, pointed out: “We got to celebrate the Cup. The rest will come when the time is right”. On his part, Panagiotis Angelopoulos said: “I have learned to think like coaches do by now. We are now focusing on the game in Valencia”.
