Recovered and aims to the playoffs

Valencia made a very bad beginning in the season (with five losses in a row), however, they seem to have been back on track. They have an 8-9 record and are fighting for a ticket to the playoffs.

Τhe brightest star: San Emeterio! The 36 year old forward has been a member of the 'golden' team of the National Spanish Selection (he has won the golden medals in the 2011 and 2015 Eurobasket competitions, silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games, Bronze medal in the 2013 and 2017 Eurobasket tournaments), he has celebrated a Spanish Championship title with Baskonia (2009-10), a FIBA Euro Cup title in 2007 with Jirona, while he has attached his name to some of the greatest milestones in Valencia's history (Spanish Championship in the 2016-17 season and winning the Eurocup in 2019). However, Bojan Dubljevic makes all the difference competition wise. The 27 year old center, who is also the most senior players in the 'taronjas' roster (he plays his 8th season with the team), is their top scorer and top rebounder of the Spanish team.

I know you from somewhere: No connection between Greece and the roster of the Spanish team.

Like a tourist: In case you travel to the Spanish city to support our team, here are some tips. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain, with more than 810,000 citizens.

Must see: The City of Arts and Sciences. It is a state of the art scientific and cultural compound, known as Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, that is comprised by a group of six futuristic buildings designed by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava (born in Valencia).

Must do: Walk around the central market, visit the famous Jardins del Turia park, as well as the impressive beaches of the city.

Must eat: Tapas and paella, tastes that you need to accompany with wine, since the are has a rich culture in wine making.

Did you know that…

* Valencia had won its first game against Olympiacos (in 2003 at the SEF), however, Olympiacos has won every other game ever since!

* Nikola Milutinov and Vanja Marinkovic had been team mates with Partizan (from 2013 to 2015).

* Taylor Rochestie and Fernando San Emeterio had been team mates with Vitoria (then Laboral Kutxa) during the 2012-13 season.

* Rochestie has been team mates with Bojan Dubljevic with the National selection of Montenegro.
