Lountzis: "Everything must start from our defense"

Olympiacos will be hosting Barcelona tomorrow (13/10, 20.15 CET), aiming to a second straight win in the Euroleague.

“They are a very talented team, with talented players that know how to play the game”, Michalis Lountzis stressed. “I think that what we need to be doing is to show our inherent toughness from the beginning. To start from our defense, be close to them at all times and not allow them to play their game. If you let them free, they are certainly going to play very good basketball”.

Asked about the big list of injured players, he commented: “It’s neither pleasant, nor good for team to be missing players. Not just for those who play, but also for the guys who feel weird about not being able to help the team. Unfortunately, injuries are part of basketball and sports in general. Thankfully, they guys don’t have serious conditions, so I believe that they are going to be back with us soon, so that we can all together show what we can do on the floor”.

Finally, when asked if he’s going to be ready, given the absence of Niger Williams-Goss, and the fact that he will have increased duties in the game, he replied: “I’m always ready”.
