Bartzokas: «We are going to be competitive»

Not everyone will be available for tomorrow’s game (13/10, 20.15 CET) vs Barcelona, for the 2nd round of the Euroleague, but Olympiacos is facing the match up with faith in their potential.

“We think there are no easy games”, is what the ‘red & whites’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, pointed out. “In a round-robin system games are difficult and a high level of concentration is demanded when preparing each and every game as well as a high level of effort during the actual match ups. This is the first game we play at home following four official ones away. We played two in Rhodes, one at the OAKA and again one in Rhodes. So, it’s the first one at home and we are happy we will be playing in front of our fans. The game is very demanding. We have gaps in our preparation, but also with our roster for tomorrow. However, we will approach the game with the required seriousness as always and try to win”.

Asked if he feels overwhelmed due to the many absentees, he replied: “You can feel anxiety only for things you can control. There’s no point to be overwhelmed about things we have no control over. Fall practiced yesterday, he practiced today as well and we believe he’s going to play. It’s certain that Brazdeikis is making his debut and it’s also certain that we are not going to have Nigel Williams-Goss, Luke Sikma and Shaquielle McKissic in the bench. Our roster will not be full, but at the same time, we have a team we believe is going to be very competitive tomorrow”.
