Bartzokas: «We lacked motive, energy and intensity»

Olympiacos beat Promitheas, however, the coach of the ‘red & whites’, Giorgos Bartzokas, was not satisfied by his team’s performance.

“Congratulations to Promitheas that always getting better. They’ve been showing a good face in both their Greek League and European games. We once again had problems with our Greek League game… For the most part, we wanted to win without trying. We’ve said many times before that this just doesn’t happen. We won, but we need to see what’s going on because we have four more games for the regular season to finish, two at home and two on the road and we have to finish as planed to head off to the playoffs. Of course, what has transpired before is always relevant. We had played four difficult games in seven days and we felt that maybe some of us needed the day off. However, there are no days off when you play at this level. You always need to be ready. We are going to work so that in the following games we are better motivated, we are more eager to play, we have greater intensity and speed, because today we were missing all of those. All the best to Promitheas”.

On his part, Promitheas’ coach, Giannis Christopoulos, pointed out the following: “I don’t know if we can say that but today we have won by losing. We knew from the start that coming here, we can only win things. Win basketball experience, win in attitude, move forward. Congratulations to Olympiacos for their course inside and outside Greece. We keep going. We have a very tough schedule and we need to be dedicated to what we have to be doing”.
