Black: «We must perfect what we are»

Tarik Black said Olympiacos to be a well-oiled machine that can be perfected, during his statements in view of the game against Barcelona.

The American center was initially asked how much the fatigue factor will be weighing on the ‘red & whites’. “We are impacted up to point, however, everybody has to play the same number of road games. So you have to get over it and compete at the same level each time”, before going on with the following: “Tomorrow when playing Barcelona, we’re going to be having our fans by our side. The atmosphere they create is amazing and they give us energy. They’ve fantastic throughout the season and they’ve been supporting us win or lose. They have boosted us in many games. We thank them and we have to congratulate them for all they’ve been doing in this gym”.

When asked to talk about the key to the game, he replied: “We must not forget that we’re talking about two teams that are at the top of the ranking board and they’ve been fighting hard for that. That’s why it actually has to do with how you approach the game. You have to come in and play hard. I don’t know if you have this saying in Greece, but in the States we say ‘Let the chips fall where they may”. In games like that, you have to have control of yourself, especially when what you’ve doing has carried you thus far. You perfect who you are and your identity. I think this is what’s important for us, not focusing on something, but rather on each one Euroleague game, Greek League game, perfecting what we are, since what we have is working and we look like a well-oiled machine. We have to present our identity, regardless of whether we have one of the best and most talented teams of the Euroleague in front of us”.
