A Cup with a special dedication!
Giorgos Bartzokas thanked the Presidents for their faith in him and dedicated the Cup Trophy to Christos Bafes and Andreas Gatzoulis.
"I want to thank the Presidents. The fact that they have been giving us the opportunity to have such a roster, and I'm talking about everyone, not just the players, is reflected on how the team has been playing. It doesn't only have to do with tactics or the physical conditioningin order to have a team that is solid, consistent and plays beautiful basketball according to the general assessments. I want to dedicate this title to Christos Bafes and Andreas Gatzoulis, who are going to be again with us soon. This tournament with the eight teams has been a huge step forward, there were things that need improving, for example the time the games were played, maybe the ticketing, so that not all games are included in one package deal, but in any case, it's a step forward. The last final that had hosted fans of both finalists had flares, armies and evacuation of the Ellinikon gym".
About the moral satisfaction derived from the praises Olympiacos' basketball has been receiving, he said: "I'm really happy about it, I'm not indifferent. A man is as good as the trust the owners put with him. The ownership has given me the ability to choose the players that can play the kind of basketball I have in my mind and the kind of basketball that wins games. Health plays a role, the human condition plays one too, it is many times you can fail, but when there is trust, you can always achieve your goals. There is always room for a team to get better. We have to adjust to who the opponent is every time. Last season and this season as well, we have dealt with challenges and my players have always remained serious. I'm mostly afraid about the Greek League games when an opponent can be underestimated, but this was also a problem when I had been working abroad as well".
On his part, the MVP of the Final, Sasha Vezenkov, stressed: "We are very happy to have won our second goal for the season. We played with respect for ourselves and the opponent. We are going to celebrate tonight, but the Euroleague continues and we have to remain humble and focused. I want to congratulate everyone within the Olympiacos organization, we have all together built something very healthy and nice".
