Bartzokas: «We will continue with the same seriousness»

Giorgos Bartzokas congratulated his players as wells as the fans that packed the Peace and Friendship Stadium, following the victory over Panathinaikos.

“Congratulations to both teams. It was a high pressure game where a lot were at stake, so it was only natural that the show, the scoring roundup by both teams and all those things that make a game attractive, were lacking. For us, it is important that we won. I would like to congratulate our players as well as the fans. It was one of the most civilized derbies I can remember in terms of the atmosphere and the fans’ behavior, that has ever been played. We move on. It was an important win for the Greek League, but since we still have to play more than full round of games, we are going to continue approaching the game with the same seriousness and see where this will take us”.

The coach of Panathinaikos, Dejan Radonic, pointed out: “It was a difficult game. We did not make a good start. We mostly made some defensive mistakes, but also some offensive. We played much better in the second half, but missed a lot of open shots, mostly threes. We had a good chance at the end to win. We didn’t make it. We certainly need to analyze tonight’s game, but we also need to prepare the team for the next Euroleague game”.
