Bartzokas: «We have to play our game style»

Olympiacos will be playing against Anadolu Efes tomorrow (01/12, 18:30 CET) aiming to win one more away game.

“We have to play our own game style, we simply need to play well”, was what the ‘red & whites’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas stressed. “We must have a good day. We need to follow the plan. Our style of playing is playing as a team, with great speed and passing and moving correctly when away from the ball. We have to shoot well, we have to have balance scoring inside and outside the post and of course we need to guard their facilitators well. They are a team that has an amazingly full roster”.

Asked whether the bad beginning the Turkish team has had – once again this year – is  a trap, he replied: “When you go to play with Efes, you can’t be thinking that they are not in a good shape or that they are going to be underestimating you. You know that if you are not 100% ready, you are going to be having problems. But they have been playing better anyway. They won significant games on the road, they beat Barcelona and they seem to be getting better every day. They obviously are at a very high level”.

The three Misic scored at the buzzer in last season’s semi-final stopped Olympiacos from playing the Euroleague final, however, that play is no longer in the coach’s mind… “I really don’t think about it. Not just I, everyone involved with sports have been taught to only look at the next day. If you remain stuck to what happened before, things pass you by. I can assure you that I have only good memories from our last year’s team and we only missed our chance to play the final for one shot, I only have very happy memories. We did very well, we won titles… Only good memories. It was a play that kept us from playing a final. Let’s hope we stay healthy and get better everyday, so maybe we get to do it again…”
