Bartzokas: «The players and the fans spoke tonight»

Olympiacos’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, paid his respects to the players and the fans of the team, following the qualification to the Euroleague Final Four.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate our team and the whole organization for this incredible achievement. I also want to voice my respect for Monaco, they also deserved to go to the Final Four. It has been a truly difficult series. We had to control our emotions during the game. Of course, we had been prepared for that, we spoke in the locker rooms both before the game tip off as well as during the break. It was only certain that it would be a forty minutes game and from the moment we finished the first half trailing by seven, with Monaco having scored 8 for 8 threes, we said that we should somehow find a way to dominate through our defense, so that we could eventually find solutions in the offense. I don’t need to analyze the game any longer. The ones who spoke for tonight’s game were our players and our fans”.

On his part, Monaco’s coach Sasa Obradovic, commented: “Congratulations to Olympiacos. They deserved to go to the final four, not only for this game, but also because they have a group of people that invest time and patience to see this program through”.
