Bartzokas: "We’ll do everything we can to win the next game"

Following the defeat to Monaco, the coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, made a promise to the ‘reds’ fans. That the team is going to do everything possible to win the next game.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate Monaco. They really played a very good game and deserved to win. We were obviously very nervous, we wanted to finish the game since the moment it started. We were not at all patient mentally and in terms of how we approached the game. Being that nervous, we began missing open shots, lay ups, many free throws. We also made twenty turnovers, a huge number at this level. Our opponent took advantage of that and gained confidence. Tonight, everything was against us. I would like to say that I’m grateful for our fans and I promise them we’ll do all we can to win the next game in Monaco”.

The coach of Monaco, Sasha Obradovic, pointed out: “I think that after the first game, we adjusted very well. We practically adjusted to the atmosphere the Olympiacos’ fans had created. In terms of the game itself, we played very well in offense, but I think that through our offense, we found a very good rhythm in defense as well. We played a very good game in defense also, apart from the 96 points we got to score. The win was the outcome of team work. Everybody is talking about Mike James, but everyone has done a great job and contributed in any way available. It was simply one game, an important win of course, however, I hope that next week we are going to be mentally ready”.
