Bartzokas: «Patience in our game is going to be necessary»

Olympiacos left today (08/12) for Belgrade, where tomorrow (09/12, 19.00 CET) will be playing against Red Star, for the 14th round of the Euroleague.

Moustapha Fall was included in the delegation, however his participation remains doubtful due to the sprain he suffered in the game against Larissa.

“Each game is somehow particular. The opponent is different each time, the circumstances are different and this is a difficult game anyway”, the Olympiacos’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas pointed out.

“Red Star is a team that plays with contract, with physicality. A team that defends well and has also added Stefan Markovic, with whom I have worked and I greatly appreciate. He’s a player that can serve many different defensive styles of playing. I think that they are a team whose results show them to be really competitive and they are going to contest a playoffs spot”.

On what the ‘reds’ need to do so that they return with the win in the luggage, he said: “We must attack and protect the ball. We must have good choices and have patience with our game defensively and offensively. The tempo is important, however, it has to do with many possessions you allow for your opponent. We need to chose plays that are specific to this case offense wise and in defense we need to target some players that facilitate well or can execute well and score. It’s important to see how Fall is going to be, who is coming with us, but it’s not certain he will be playing. Depending on whether he plays or not, we are going to be choosing some other elements in regard to our tactics”.
