Bartzokas: «We need to defend well at the perimeter» (vid)

Defense and mainly that at the perimeter is going to be, according to the Olympiacos’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, the key to tomorrow’s (19/11, 20.00 CET) game against Maccabi Tel Aviv at the SEF.

“It’s a game of high level difficulty. Circumstances and timing always play a role, they are coming from a win, we are coming from a loss. We need to focus on what we need to do well, they are an athletic team, they are constantly getting better and they have enough players with experience on this level. It’s obvious that we need to play good defense at the perimeter on those we know they can lead in scoring, but we also need to play a good team game, just like we played last night for 30 minutes. From there on, if we have some key players of ours in a good night, then we can beat anyone. But, what each coach can control is team game”.

Asked about how ready Quincy Acy is, the replied: “I can’t be giving out percentages. Physically, he’s in good shape, but he hasn’t played a game since he last played with Maccabi. He still doesn’t fully know of our tactics. We do want him to play the soonest possible, but this has to be a smooth transition”.
