Bartzokas: "Congratulations to our players and our fans" (vid)

The coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, congratulated his players and the fans following the victory over Zalgiris.

“Congratulations to my players and our fans. Our fans created a very warm atmosphere and the players played a very solid game for thirty minutes. For us, the three point difference with which we were losing at the end of the first half was really good, if we take into account the way we approached the game in the first quarter. Everyone understands and I keep saying it to my players, that there are no easy games. You will lose if you don’t play with energy and strength. I would also like to say that the way the game ended, I had the opportunity to share minutes. Vezenkov played for about 40 minutes against Barcelona. McKissic and Martin played with minor injuries and thankfully, I didn’t need to use them. I would like to wish good luck to Zure Zdovc. Zalgiris is a good team with a good roster. They have some injured players that will be coming back and then I’m certain they are going to have good results”.

Zalgiris’s coach, Zure Zdovc, stated: “I’m very disappointed by the way we lost. We made a good beginning, had good periods within the game, however, we showed a totally different face in the second half. We lost control in the offense, we stopped playing defense instead of building up power. We weren’t pressing, we did not communicate and we collapsed. Congratulations to the coach of Olympiacos, Mr. Bartzokas and his players. We have a lot of work ahead of us. We are not going to look for excuses. We have to win our next game”.
