Walkup: «Focused for forty minutes»

Thomas Walkup talked about tomorrow’s game (13/10, 21.00 CET) road game against Barcelona and stressed that Olympiacos has a good chance at coming back with a win, so long they play tough and with focus.

At first, the American guard was asked to comment on the powerful winning start of the ‘reds’ (2/2) in this season’s Euroleague. “It doesn’t matter how we started. What matters is always the next game. Against Barcelona, we are going to have to play tough and remain focused. If we do that on all forty minutes we can get a positive result”.

Talking about the ‘blaugrana’, he said: “Barcelona is a very disciplined team with a good coach. They are definitely going to have a good game play and they are going to play hard. Coach Jasikevicius knows the league very well and he is sure to have prepared a good game plan”.

Finally, on whether the key to this game is once again going to be defense, he stressed: “It’s still too early in the season. We have a lot more to work on and give defense wise, in terms of toughness and co-operations. These are elements that we continue to improve upon. I think that up to now we have merely scratched the surface on that. Good teams become better as time goes by and this what we need to be doing not only in regard to defense but with offense as well”.
