He lived on Mount Athos, in the Holy Mother’s yard for 18 years and in 2004 he returned to his birthplace, Crete, where he still resides conducting substantial community work.

The word is on Arch Dice Vassilios Papadakis, who apart from his devotion to God, he has great affection for the basketball team of Olympiacos.

His prayers in Istanbul may have played a part in winning the Euroleague.

During the team’s stay in Rethymnon, the General Director of Olympiacos Mr. Christos Stavropoulos and the immediate associate of Giorgos Bartzokas, Milan Tomic, visited Father Vassilios in the Holy Monastery of St. Anastasia the Roman, which he completely helped renovate within only 14 months.

The ‘red’ delegation offered Father Vassilios a Giorgos Printezis shirt signed by the whole team and were given a tour of the Monastery, through the gates of which more than 10,000 pilgrims walk each year.
