“We will surpass any obstacle whatsoever”

Panagiotis Giannakis attended the joint Press Conference organized by the Federation in view of the Greek Cup Final and spoke about Olympiacos’ goals for the game: “I don’t have anything in particular to say today, because we have been talking about the same things every year. Today, there is only one question to ask. How to organize the final next season. As far as my team is concerned, we want to win the cup and we will surpass any obstacle we might meet”.

What should be done next season so that things change?
“Everything should be organized ahead. Where the final is going to take place, under which conditions, how the teams are going to qualify for the final, who are those to delegate the game, how is everyone going to have access to the gym, how it’s going to be secured that they are not going to get hurt. Simple staff. The same things that are provided for all over the world. It’s not a renovation. Let’s say about the tickets, whatever is going to be needed, we already know about it. What is it we need? Id’s? A person should go through ten checks? We should know about it today. Basketball is for everyone. Grownups, young people, kids. We want the more people possible in the gyms. I had said the same things last season. Each one of us should do their job. Whoever takes a job to do, then do it right. We managed to make good Games”.

On whether Giannis Bourousis will play the final…
”When people talk it’s a good thing, but we should all help for basketball to become better. Giannis has not been well and still is not. We’ll see how he is up to the last minute and how and if he can help. It’s doubtful”.

On whether there is bigger pressure on the team…
“Any team, and Olympiacos even more, wants to win in a final. The pressure is a given when you want to reach the top and whoever plays for Olympiacos knows that”.

On the readiness levels of his team…
“There isn’t much to say. I’m much more certain for one thing. That guys have understood the way we can reach victory”.
