Sferopoulos: «Everything starts with the defense»
Olympiacos will be hosted by Red Star on Friday (7/11, 19:00 CET) and just before the team's departure to Belgrade, the 'reds' coach Giannis Sferopoulos as well as Tremmell Darden commented on the game against the Serbs.
GIANNIS SFEROPOULOS: "It's of no importance that this is my debut in the Euroleague as the Olympiacos head coach. The team is above anything else, not my debut. What we wish to present against red Star are the new elements we have been trying to incorporate in our game in both defense and offense and see to what extent we can apply them. It's an important game for us. I want everything to initiate in the defense, we need to remain focused, to avoid mistakes, make the right choices in offense so as not to allow them to run the fast break. I think it's an advantage to be playing in a packed gym. When you play the top level, you need to be ready to face situations like that".
TREMMELL DARDEN: "It took patience and right work to help me overcome my injury. I now feel ready and I really want to help the team. What we want against Red Star is to play hard defense, everything will be starting at this end for us. We also need to be especially careful with the rebounding so as to now allow them the fast break".
