The return from Karpenisi and the first practice of the team at the Peace and Friendship Stadium signals the beginning of the second part of the team’s pre-season training. Giorgos Bartzokas summarized the work been done up to now and spoke about what he expects from the second part of the pre-season that includes several powerful friendly games.

“The most important thing on the mountain has been that we avoided injuries. This is the first prerequisite from a pre-season and even this fact in itself marks our work up to now as positive. We begin with friendly games and what is very helpful is that most of the guys in our roster are not new to the team. The team has been progressing much faster due to consistency and chemistry, they assimilate everything easier and it’s very important that the two new guys have become one with the rest of the team very quickly”, the Olympiacos head coach commented and added: “We picked some very strong friendly games because we want to test our weaknesses and work on them. Many trips will also be a factor and the guys will have the chance to get used with how this season’s Euroleague is going to be played, since there are going to be even more strong games and even more trips. The guys are very well aware that they have a very difficult season ahead of them and I’m very happy because they are more than professionals and push themselves to the limits”.
