Papaloukas and Vujcic among the decade’s best
A great honor for Theodoros Papaloukas and Nikola Vujcic and of course for Olympiacos. The two players for the team have been voted among the 10 top basketball players of the Euroleague for the past decade.
Together with Bodiroga, Navarro, Diamantides, Parker, Holden, Langton, Siskauskas and Jasikevicius, the two Olympiacos players comprise the top ten players of the Euroleague according to a poll set up by the Euroleague among reporters and fans.
“It’s a great honor for me to be included among Europe’s top ten. This award is the vindication of the efforts of years and it’s very important for an athlete to be acknowledged through time”, Theodoros Papaloukas stressed and added: “I wish to thank all those who voted for me. I will try to remain at the same level in the years to come”.
Nikola Vujcic stressed: “It’s a great honor to be among the Top 10 of the decade. It makes me proud and proves that I have done something of my career”, the Croatian center pointed out and went on saying: “Next ten years are going to be very difficult to tell who is going to stand out. There are many great young guys with huge talent. I personally will try to remain at a high level for the next five years (laughing) and then we’ll see”.
