Dimitris Mavroeidis was among those excelling in the Olympiacos victory in Patrai and after the end of the game that at the same time marked the end of the first round, spoke to Olympiacosbc.gr about the 13-0 record and also about what follows…

“Our primary goal was to finish the first round without being defeated and we did that, but we should do the same in the second round as well. During most of the first round we played good basketball, apart maybe from the last two days when we had a slight abatement in our performance. I believe this is something we should think about and make us work even more to remain at the shape we need to both for the Greek League and the European competition” the international center commented and he then talked about the atmosphere in the Apollo gym tribunes: “The atmosphere the fans of both teams created was very warm. An athlete likes to play in such gyms; he gets inspired when the atmosphere is basket affectionate”.

As for what follows with the Euroleague: “There is the objection in regard to our game against Siena, but we don’t think about it. We only want to win all remaining games, beginning with the one against Maccabi. Just like in the Regular Season we managed to turn an unfavorable situation from game to game, we aim to do just the same now. We are going to give our best, maybe we are not yet with our backs against the wall, but we certainly face a very critical turning point and we don’t want to be giving away any more games. That’s not who we are. We are going to Tel Aviv to give everything we’ve got to get the win”.
