Kostas Papanikolaou is in Piraeus for his second season and everyone has been expecting more this year from the talented forward. Dusan Ivkovic’ decision to work a lot on “Pap” and give him an important role within the team is his big chance…

“If I get scared, then I will do nothing on the floor. I’m ready to work and grab the chances my coach gives me”, he said to www.olympiacosbc.gr and added: “If I’m any good, it will show on the floor. The court is the mirror for all”.

Papanikolaou has been playing without any breaks for two years now and it’s only logical that he’s warred out : “I’m tired, but with the help of Andreas Gatzoulis I haven’t been worn out. I got three days off, it has been enough and now I only think about work”.

Kostas will have the company of yet another golden junior this year, besides Kostas Sloukas, Demetres Katsivelis: “Olympiacos shows that has a program to give opportunities to young guys during the past few years. One of the greatest teams in Greece supports Greek players and I wish this continues in the future and more young Greek players join the team”.

Kostas also commented on the experience with the National Men’s team: “I’ve given it a try, but the coach decided I’m not ready yet to help the team. This doesn’t disappoint me, but rather gives me extra motive to work. The guys can give us another great moment and I wish them from my heart to win a medal”.
