And the best of all is Milos...

Milos Teodosic was voted the best European player of 2010 at the FIBA Europe poll, leaving behind him Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, Linas Kleiza and Juan Carlos Navarro.

The Serb guard of Olympiacos got twice the votes in comparison to the second placed Gasol in the fans voting and that’s what gave him the first place, removing the 2008 and 2009 owner of the title, since the experts (coaches, journalists) voted for Gasol more.

Teodosic, who had been the Euroleague MVP of last season, spoke to Olympiacosbc.gr on being pronounced the top European player: It’s a very big honor for me but I would like to share it with my teammates in Olympiacos and the National team of Serbia. I think this is something good for both my team and Serbian basketball as well.

The 23 year old play-maker, who was informed of the honors Friday afternoon, added: Nevertheless, if someone came and told me that we would be winning the Triple Crown this season with Olympiacos and a medal with Serbian National team at Eurobasket, then I would gladly exchange the title. It’s certainly great for any player to have such a title in his credentials, but what stays with you in the end is how many titles you have won and how many medals with the teams you have played. And I still haven’t won much.

As for what comes next? We are going after all our three goals and I think that have control of the situation. The important games are right now and it’s now that we have to show how good a team we are. The victory in Valencia was very important, but it’s not enough. We haven’t qualified yet and to do that we need one more victory. That’s our primary goal. If two victories come and along them the first place in the group, everything is going to be better, but first of all we need to qualify.
