Greece, with a 35-member mission, traveled to Rome, where this year made a dynamic presence with two awards. The Special Jury Prize for Science of Paleontology came to Greece and Professor of Geology - Paleontology Auth, Evangelia Tsoukalas. The greatest achievement of the excavation team of Tsoukalas is the discovery in Milia, the largest mastodon tusk of 5.02 meters worldwide (tusk of elephant ancestor that lived in the area), 3,000,000 years who also won the award for Guinness World Records.

Evangelia Tsoukalas shared the prize with the famous Dutch Paleontology researcher Dick Mol, with huge voluntary work worldwide and great contribution in the science of paleontology.

A great honor and recognition for the Greek basketball player of Olympiacos and the National team Greece, Vassilis Spanoulis, but also for the country, was the International Sport Award for his great talent, ethics and sports performance. By the hands of Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos, and in the presence of President Don Bruno Lima and the General Secretary Vicki Bafataki, Cardinal Peter Turkson was awarded the Culture Award, as to his great work in culture, peace and humanity. Finally, young Italian Maurizio Nobili was awarded in the economy.
