Victory before traveling abroad…

Olympiacos won both friendly games against Panionios. This time, the «reds” did not win as easily as the Saturday game, but they finally got an 89-86 victory, which however, was the least important thing of the game.

Dusan Ivkovic again tried different rosters and gave minutes to the players that get to play the least.

Panionios began the game better and controlled the tempo in the first quarter finding easy ways to score. The ‘reds” defense got tighter in the second quarter and that resulted in the first half ending with Olympiacos leading by 10.

In the second half, the Olympiacos players had again ups and downs, with Hines, Spanoulis and Gecevicius standing out offensively and with the team defense being good in the third quarter but bad in the fourth. This resulted in Panionios coming close to the score and challenging the victory at the end. Two free throws by Vangelis Mantzaris 10’’ before the end shaped the final 89-86.
