The players under Giorgos Bartzokas began kind of numb in defense against the Russians but they still controlled the score and closed the first quarter leading 24-23 with a buzzer beater by Hines.

Olympiacos defense was excellent in the beginning of the second quarter and Vassilis Spanoulis was incredible offensively. The captain had 9 points and 7 assists in the first half and together with Printezis and Perperoglou led the Champions to +16(38-54).

In the second half, there once again was a void in the defense since Giorgos Bartzokas tested different rotations. Nevertheless, the ‘reds” never completely lost control of the game and reached an easy second victory for the tournament.
