Spanoulis went for the victory once again…

The Olympiacos captain was unstoppable and four months following the last meeting with CSKA Moscow for the Euroleague final, the ‘reds’ once again got the victory (83-76).

The European Champions were great from the beginning of the game and playing a terrific defense imposed their rhythm against the Russians who played without five of their players (Teodosic, Krstic, Voronev, Kaun, Erceg).

Olympiacos led by 13 points, but the Russians made the come back and closed in at three points by the end of the first half.

In the second half Vassilis Spanoulis played incredibly well for a five minute period that was enough to create a safety net for his team, and when he went to the bench Gecevicius proved to be a worthy replacement.

Giorgos Bartzokas tried various roster rotations and despite that the team controlled the game at all times.
