Bartzokas: «Our approach to the game was that of amateurs»

Olympiacos played far from their usual standards and despite the win, our team's coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, felt the need to apologize to the fans.

"I want to congratulate Maroussi. They made a very good effort and a good game. I don't have much to say about us. It was a game after the one in Valencia that was very crucial and before the Greek Cup's Final 8, which is also crucial for us. Probably, most of our players saw it as a procedure necessary to pass the time. We even came close to losing. I would like to apologize to the fans who paid for a ticket and came here to watch Olympiacos receiving almost 90 points from a Basket League team, when we are the ones to have the best defense in the Euroleague, if I'm not mistaken. That means that our approach to the game was an amateur one. However, I cannot stay more on this game, nor can I complain. My players, simply need to understand that the closer we get to the end of the season there are going to be nights like this one, with amassed fatigue and intensity, that the more they push themselves and we push our team to the limits, the future will only hold good things for us".
