Bartzokas: «I feel grateful for our fans' support»

With the support of his fans Olympiacos got the win against Armani and is now focusing on the game vs Monaco at the SEF (04/01, 20.15 CET).

"It was the third game in a row that we were under great pressure", was the initial comment by Olympiacos' coach, Giorgos Bartzokas. "It was somehow, a game we absolutely had to win. We have had the games against Villeurbanne, Alba and Milan tonight. Armani played an outstanding game, they 'followed' to the end and waited for their chance. They made big and hard threes in a row during the last minutes of the game. We have had a +15 - 13-point lead, however, we were kind of naive, we made a lot of turnovers and gave them the opportunity to strike in the transition, while we did not have the patience to execute our plays. We were confident at the end of the game though. The triple by Goss, Fall's assist to Peters, plus two huge defensive plays by Fall, who blocked two shots, shaped the final outcome. I'm grateful for the support by our fans. It's very important to have yet one more sold-out game, because that's what's actually the goal in basketball. To play infront of lots of fans who are interested in the sport. Almost all Euroleague teams have been seeing record ticket sales and that's very important. In the game with Alba in Berlin, there were 12,000 fans in the arena, despite they are not a dominant team in the league. Watching the rest of the Euroleague results, each one of us can realize how difficult this is. We are going to be getting better game after game and practice after practice. We haven't had time to play all together and we must find who we are and what we need to be doing... To have better collaborations on both ends of the floor. We now have the game with Monaco, we have to prepare it and try to win".
