Bartzokas: «We must lift our heads up»

Giorgos Bartzokas admitted that Olympiacos lost his own game.

"Congratulations to Virtus. They fought till the last possession, despite us controlling the game for 39 minutes, playing well and making good decisions. However, in the last quarter everything changed, mainly our psychology following a couple of missed shots. We lost confidence, we missed a lot of open threes by great shooters. We had less than 30% in threes and that's why we scored 27 points in the second half. Virtus gained confidence, returned in the game and finally, everything was against us. I have nothing else to say. Again, congratulations to Virtus. We must lift our heads up and focus on the next game".

When asked to make a comment on Alec Peters' season up to now, he responded: "He's been playing very well. It's hard for me right now to analyze what happened, following a loss. We hadn't had Peters in the previous game against Valencia, since his wife gave birth during the game. Tonight, his effort was a very good one, especially in the first half, but we lost him in the second one. But even Alec had 0/4, despite being open. However, I don't want to focus on any one player in particular. We play as a team on both ends of the court, so we needed something more. I don't know what this is. Is it mental? Is it physical? We have to analyze how we lost a game we were in control of for 39:30'' minutes".
