Bartzokas: «I appreciate the win» (vid)

he coach of Olympiacos, Giorgos Bartzokas, said the game vs Bayern to be 'weird', while before talking about the game, he extended his condolences to the Sports Director, Christos Bafes.

"I want to express my condolences to Christos on his father's passing. I'm talking on behalf of the whole team". He said about the game: "It was a weird game. We began with the right attitude on both ends of the floor. We defended very well and scored many points in the transition or following motion. At some point, we thought it would be very easy and we simply won the game without playing up to standards. We received 15 points right when the clock was expiring for Bayern's offensive plays. They won the ball in every 50-50 challenged ball and scored threes. They had four plays of the kind, twelve points and one 2-pointer with an additional free throw. That was something that hurt us, because in all those challenged plays, we should have gone to the ball first. I certainly appreciate the win, following tough losses to Monaco and Real. Bayern was coming from a five-game winning streak, three of them for the Euroleague. They were missing players, just like we did. Up to now, it seems like it's the Euroleague of injuries. All the team our battling that and lose players, during a really tough program of the competition. I would like to congratulate my friend Pablo (Laso) and wish him good luck. Bayern is a team I really like. They have a very good roster and I thing they are strong competitors for the playoffs".

On his part, Bayern's coach, Pablo Laso, pointed out the following: "Congratulations to Olympiacos for the win. We did not make a good start in the game, we missed open shots and made too many turnovers, giving an advantage to our opponents. We were trailing by 16 points in the first quarter and if you allow 16 points to Olympiacos, you can try, but it's too hard to come back".
