Bartzokas: «Monaco is a special team»

Olympiacos' delegation left on Wednesday (29/11) for Monaco, where tomorrow, they will play against the local team for the 11th round of the Euroleague.

"Monaco is a very strong and special team", Giorgos Bartzokas pointed out. "They have a very strong perimeter and it's always difficult to play against them in their home court. Their arena is different and small. We are in a process of getting better. I believe that we are in better shape and we now have to show it on the court".

Asked if the focus will be on defense, he replied: "I think the work is always the same. The perimeter is the same. We have to defend well, we want good co-operation, we must be very compact, but we also have to be efficient on both ends of the floor. We must score also, because this is also necessary".

Finally, on whether he thinks Filip Petrusev would be needed for the specific game, he made the following comment: "I don't believe he's a player for only one game. If he were ready, I would certainly have included him in the delegation, that's why we signed him. He's going to need some time to come into good shape and understand how we play. Not everything in basketball is automatically done. Both us and him need some time. I'm very happy with this sign as well with that of Naz. Gradually, the roster is going to have more depth and we are going to be more protected in terms of injuries".
