First road win with a historic record!

Olympiacos ‘crashed’ Armani in Milan 93-72, for the 12th round of the Euroleague and celebrated his first road win for the season with a historic record!

The 60 points the ‘reds’ scored in the first half marks for their best offensive performance in the first half of a Euroleague game!

The ‘reds’ opened fire from the three point line since minute one and with Tyler Dorsey in a leading role, got to build a +13 margin by minute 6 (8-22). Olympiacos consistently maintained control up until 8’ (18-30), however, the Italians replied in the same fashion. They attacked from the 6.75m. line and with a 10-0 streak closed in at 2p. (28-30 at 11’).

Bartzokas’ players responded immediately. They pushed in defense, moved the ball extremely well and with a partial 15-2 regained control (33-45). The hosts fought hard trying to catch up, however, the incredible percentages of the ‘reds’ (who closed the first half with 12/16 threes) did not allow them to do so (45-60 at 20’).

Following the offensive recital of the first half, our team decided to teach lessons in … defense! For more than four minutes, the ‘reds’ could not find target, however, thanks to their defense, they did not allow Armani to come closer than 10p. (50-60). Then, playing controlled basket, they saw -always relying on excellent defensive performance – to increase the margins (17p., 55-72 at 29’).

Sticking to the same plan, the players of Olympiacos, not only did not give the Italians the opportunity to return to the game, but with Giannoulis Larentzakis, they got to the final score of +21 (72-93). It’s noteworthy that this was the first home loss for Armani Milan in the Euroleague.

The quarters: 25-30, 45-60, 57-72, 72-93.
