Took Monaco apart!

Olympiacos bested Monaco 86-65 for the 8th round of the Euroleague and maintained his home court intact.

Relying on their perimeter percentages, the guests imposed the tempo from the start (9-16 at 4’) and closed the first quarter leading by 10p. (17-27).

Olympiacos improved his defensive game, balanced rebounding, went to better offensive choices and succeeded in closing in to 3p. (35-38) at the end of the first half.

In the second half, the ‘reds’ sped up… With a defensive game worthy of a seminar and Sasha Vezenkov and Tyler Dorsey spearheading the offense, they managed – despite very poor shooting from the free throws line – to set the tempo and close the 3rd quarter at +7 (59-52).

With the same playbook and intensity in terms of defense, Olympiacos sent the difference to +17 running a partial 15-5 (74-57) at 35’ and practically ‘sealed’ the victory. Nevertheless, the team did not slow down, which is apparent in the final +21 margin.

The quarters: 17-27, 35-38, 59-52, 86-65.
