Edged over Alba and now the focus is on Fener

Olympiacos edged Alba Berlin 87-83, remains unbeaten in its home court and is now solely focusing on the Thursday game (28/10, 20.00 CET) against Fenerbahce at the SEF.

The game was balanced up until 6’ (13-13), however, by playing a solid defensive game and with Kostas Papanikolaou and Tyler Dorsey leading the offense, the ‘reds’ built a +10 difference (27-17, at 9’).

The guests got to scoring from the perimeter and closed in 29-26 at 12’, however, it was the turn for Kostas Sloukas and Giorgos Printezis to take over and take the margin to +16 (45-29 at 17’). Alba once again attacked from the 6.75m. arc and closed in at 8p. (50-42), while the 52-42 was written by our captain (i.e. Printezis) with a 2-pointer.

The outlook remained the same into the 3rd quarter. Leaning on their defense, the ‘reds’ maintained complete control and found themselves leading by 14 (69-55 at 28’).

However, the guests did not quit the fight… They took advantage of turnovers, bad offensive choices our team was making, as well as gaps in the defense, ‘struck’ from three point line at first and moved into the paint later on, turning the game into a derby (80-77 at 38’). The fact though that Tyler Dorsey and Sasha Vezenkov kept their cool during the free throws roulette tipped the scales for Olympiacos.

The quarters: 27-19, 52-42, 71-59, 87-83.
