A loss in Madrid (vid)
Olympiacos was far removed from their potential in Madrid and lost to Real 63-72, in the framework of the 33rd round of the Euroleague.
The ‘reds’ were not shooting well at all in the first quarter (5/11 2p., 0/4 3p.), a fact that Real took advandage of and with Deck as the absolute protagonist got to build a margin of +11 (27-16 at 13’).
Olympiacos got to put pressure in the defense later on, ran the fast-break and closed in at 27-20, however, the ‘reds’ were not able to find solutions for their offensive problems… Percentages remained extremely low (9/24 twos, 1/8 threes), resulting in the first quarter closing at -10 (36-26).
With a three by Kostas Sloukas, our team closed in at 8p. (41-33), however, at the same time, the hosts opened fire from the 6.75m. and sent the difference sky-high, at +17 (55-38, at 31’). The ‘reds’ showed signs of recovery and with Sasha Vezenkov in the lead, closed in at 9p. (69-60 at 38’), but it proved to be really late…
