First place in the «Patras Cup»

Olympiacos bested Apollon 76-59 for the “Patras Cup” final and won the first place of the tournament. Vangelis Mantzaris was the MVP.

Olympiacos bested Apollon 76-59 for the “Patras Cup” final and won the first place of the tournament. Vangelis Mantzaris was the MVP.

The Reds imposed the rhythm from the beginning of the game and led 16-12 in the first quarter. Defense worked well in the second period also and the Piraeus team was leading 30-29 at half-time.

Using defense as their main weapon the European Champions succeeded in obtaining a safety margin in the third quarter thus reaching an easy victory.

Μantzaris: «Better later on»

The Patras Cup MVP, Vangelis Mantzaris, stated: “fortunately for me, it was a big adventure that is now over. I haven’t missed a practice and I try to be better every day and to find rhythm. Everything is going to come back to me through work. We miss quite a few players and we are tired, which is only natural for this time in the season. I believe that we are going to be better from game to game and we are going to find rhythm through friendly games we are going to be playing”.
