Three-peat!

Olympiacos beat Panathinaikos 69-58 and won the Greek Cup title for the third year in a row! This is the second title of the season, since the 'red & whites' had already won the 'Super Cup', also against Panathinaikos! Moustapha Fall was the Final's MVP. 

The game did not start with the best omens for the 'red & whites', since they saw Isaiah Canaan leaving the game only at 2', due to injury (he got hit in both his neck and face). However, it proved not to be something serious and hence the American guard returned to action seconds before the clock on the first quarter expired. 

Nervousness for both teams and bad shooting were the main characteristics of the first quarter, that found our team with a small lead at its end (12-14). Panathinaikos found score from the perimeter and went ahead (24-23), but with superb defense and a 7-0 partial, our team got to lead by 6p. for the first time in the game at 19' (24-30). It's worth noting that the one only three-point shot made in the first half (1/14) came by the hands of Thomas Walkup at 18'. Finally, Grant closed in 25-30 for Panathinaikos at 20', making one of his two free throws.  

Quality was nowhere to be found in the third quarter also. Turnovers and bad offensive choices kept our team scoreless for about four minutes, during which time Panathinaikos originally closed to 29-30 and at 15' got ahead with a three-point shot by Mitoglou (32-31). The game remained balanced up until 28' (39-39). At that point though, Olympiacos, playing an amazing defensive game and with Peters, Fall and Papanikolaou running point in the offense, ran a partial 8-0 and closed the third quarter at +8 (39-47). They didn't stop there either... Starting from their defense at all times and with Wright and Petrusev dominating the post, they completely controlled the tempo, opened up the distance to 14p. (48-61) at 37' and practically sealed the win!
