Stepped on the gas at the end

Olympiacos beat Kolossos 71-52 at the SEF, for the 14th day of the Basket League.

The 'red & whites' were a specter of themselves in the first half. Lack of creation, bad shooting and turnovers did not allow our team to set the tempo, marginally closing the first quarter in the lead, thanks to a triple by Thomas Wlakup (14-11). Olympiacos remained in the driver's seat up until 17' (25-20, with +5 being the widest difference up to that point), but Kolossos got to strike from the perimeter, and running a partial 12-2 turned the situation in their favor (27-32) at 20'.

In the second half, the 'red & whites' improved their offensive performance quite a lot, but, the dominance of Nikola Milutinov in the post and the threes by Isaiah Canaan were not enough for out team so as to take complete control of the game. Kolossos took advantage of their superiority with rebounding, consistently breathing down Olympiacos' neck (47-44, at 29'). But somewhere around that point, Bartzokas' players decided to step on the gas... They effectively put pressure in defense, went to good offensive choices and running a partail 13-4, they got to lead with double digits for the first time at 34' (59-48). And it was then that the win was definitely decided... The guests did not have the strength to push back and the 'red & whites' - despite their unforced turnovers - saw to give their win a celebratory note.

Moustapha Fall did not play the game (discomfort in his inside lateral ligament in the right knee) and Filip Petrusev (muscular spasm in the abductor muscles).

The quarters: 14-11, 27-32, 50-44, 71-52.
