PETWAY: I know what I can do and I’m going to prove myself

Just a little after signing his contract, Brent Petway spoke to Olympiacosbc.gr: “I’m super excited about this development. It’s a huge step for me. I’m going to have the chance and play at Euroleague level and all the more, for the European Champions. Nothing could have been better for me” the American forward said and then referred to the pressure he might feel with a team of the likes of Olympiacos: “I’m not afraid of the pressure at all. Pressure makes me play better. It’s going to be good for me to work at a better level. I know what I can do and I’m going to show everybody”.

It wasn’t hard for the ‘flying’ American to say yes to Olympiacos: “I thought about it for a few seconds (laughing). I wanted to stay in Greece, for the back to back Champions of Europe and what I wanted became true”.

As for his connection to the fans …”Basketball is a game giving you the ability to experience it at 100%. I’m here to enjoy the game, but most of all, to celebrate victories. No player and no team can promise to always win. But when you try and you have the fans with you, then you can succeed a lot and Olympiacos has been the best example in the last couple of years for everyone involved with basketball”.
